KFE - Area 17

Jun 5, 2020

In a recent meeting, I was reminded of a simple quote we hear on multiple occasions.

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right” Henry Ford

Though this was referenced in the context of sales, this quote is worth exploring on a personal level.

Certainly, when it comes to success, mindset is everything.

What would applying this quote to our personal growth look like?

When I was in the market to buy a new car and had decided on the make and model, an odd thing happened.  I started seeing that exact car more often.  It clearly wasn’t because everyone was thinking in the same vein and had recently decided to buy this specific car.

Thinking about this specific car meant I was putting attention and focus on this model and started noticing it.  Of course, the car was always there.

Now take this example in the context of thoughts.  If you have repeated thoughts such as “I never have any luck, I can’t get a break, etc”, how are you going to see opportunity and chances to take?

You become focused on noticing things that validate your thoughts.   You see what is in alignment with your thoughts and find evidence to back up your beliefs.

Shifting your mindset by changing that repeating thought means you will notice and pay attention to opportunities for growth.

Do you know what thoughts you repeat to yourself?  What thoughts can you insert into your mindset?

You can create new thoughts and make them easily repeatable by journaling them. The impact of journaling is that when you write something down your mind relives those thoughts.  Your brain does not distinguish between the event and your journal entry.  It lights up Area 17 in your visual cortex!

The tripling effect of your repeating thought happens by:

·       Creating the new thought of what you want for yourself

·       Journaling that thought

·       Reading your journal

By engaging in this practice, your new “thought” is passed to your subconscious mind, becomes accepted and then acted upon.  It translates that impulse into its physical equivalent.

If you think about what is available to you in life it would seem it is unlimited since it comes down to what you focus on and pay attention to.

I am sure that by implanting and journaling these new thoughts you will begin to see opportunities for success everywhere.

Mindset is everything.

Have a great weekend,

If a person repeats a lie over and over, the lie will eventually be accepted as truth.  It will be believed to be the truth.  Each of us is what we are because of the dominating thoughts we permit to occupy our minds.
All impulses of thought have a tendency to clothe themselves in their physical equivalent
